Wave of the Good, Twirl of the Bad
This is one of the projects I deeply regret its failure: the same old story of incongruence of two different worldviews: the rigid and the soft.
One can rewrite Rumi’s story in today’s context in this way: a ‘hero’ (here, the client!) asked a barber (the architect) to tattoo the figure of a lion on his arm. The barber had not started his work with the needles that the hero cried of pain and asked which part is being done. He replied, ‘it’s the main.’ The hero said, ‘my lion needs no main.’ Hence, the famous poetry line, ‘when he saw the lion without main, tail and stomach…’. Well, you know, it was not all about pain, the point is that he was not a hero and did not need a lion. He had heard about camelopard but believed not in giraffe. So he build his camelopard … By the way, this was the second time I burst into tears because of a client. Moj-e-Nikan (the wave of the Good) turned into the twirl of the Bad.
