Cultural Sport Complex for the Disabled

We had to organize different aspects of activities in the site which had different limitations. In the contrary of municipality rules we designed a linear building to prevent an isolated dead-end project.

The idea of the project based on the interaction of the northern park and the green space of the southern forsaken factory. Due to high levels of subterranean waters in the area it was not possible to make several layers of underground spaces, so we placed the functional boxes on each other with empty spaces between them. These empty spaces have direct interaction with indoor and outdoor spaces…. Functional boxes are connected to each other by several rams on the main façade. This is an extended (vertical) landscape of the northern park that rises to the roof which is a field for riding the wheelchairs. The functional façade was meant to be an action façade where the users have an impact with their presence and movement during the night.
